Greetings Shapleigh Families and Community,
It is that exciting time of year again when we begin accepting applications for our Pre-K program for next fall. Please see the attached poster about our program which provides a link and QR code to our online Pre-K lottery application. We will be accepting these applications through February 26, 2021. Kindergarten registration will begin the Monday after February vacation, more information on that to come. We look forward to meeting our youngest learners. Please feel free to share this information with any family that may have an eligible student for next fall.

Shapleigh Memorial School has currently lost power. For those that are NWEA testing remotely this may impact your afternoon testing sessions. An update will be sent out when power is restored. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Just a reminder of our upcoming early release day scheduled for January 13, 2021. At Shapleigh Memorial, we will begin parent dismissal at 1:15pm and bus dismissal immediately following at 1:30pm. Please reach out to the office with any questions.
Each student received a book as a gift from Title I before vacation that went along with their winter themed family night. These books were selected to align to interest and grade level. Please reach out to Title 1 with any questions on how to support your child's reading growth from home! Thanks so much for your continued support.

Dear Shapleigh Families,
The District is considering reinstating its early release days this January - May. This would mean 7 early release days on the following Wednesdays: 01/13; 02/3; 03/03; 03/24; 04/07; 05/05; 05/26.
The Elementary Schools would release early at about 1:15PM. And, the Middle and High Schools would release early at about noon. Before doing so, we would like to understand how this will impact your family in these unique times through a quick survey.
The primary purpose for this time is the same as in previous years - to work with teachers in supporting the educational needs of your children. Given the unique demands of the times, this professional time is especially important for our teachers.
Transportation will be for those who currently ride buses and school lunch would be served either on site or as a "grab and go" on these days. Remote learning families would continue to access school lunch by way of curbside pick up.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held virtually this week for our learners. Sign up information has been shared through the classroom teachers. Specialists (Ms. Fearon, Mr. Abbiati, Mrs. Bovie, and Mrs. Coffin) will be available as well on the night on November 19th for pop in conferences. Last year we held our first Veterans Day celebration to honor and thank all of our local Veterans. Sadly, due to the restrictions around COVID 19, we are unable to hold a full celebration this year however we do look forward to continuing our new tradition next year.
We do want to thank, honor and celebrate all who have served our country. We plan to share a small thank you with our veterans who are a part of our Shapleigh community on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. Please see the attached invitation and we hope you are able to drive through to see what our learners have prepared for you!
