Last week, RSU 57 received a donation of books from Hilltop Boilers Maple Syrup in celebration of Read Across America Week! Owners Michael and Jennifer Bryant generously provided over 200 copies of "How to Tap a Maple" by Stephanie Mulligan to all RSU 57 third graders. The donation also included an accompanying activity book created in collaboration with Hilltop Boilers. We are so grateful for this incredible gift! “As a bus driver, I have the freedom to enjoy summers, holidays, and weekends off - it’s been a game-changer! I can finally enjoy life outside of work on my own terms and spend quality time with my family.”
Learners were provided different activities at the end of January to help pull together their understanding of what it means to be a respectful to ourselves, each other and/or our environment. Those that returned their completed activities were entered into a drawing for a Shapleigh Memorial School t-shirt! Congratulations to our winners Carter and Emerson!

The third graders are just beginning their form project in art class. In this unit they are building clay pots using the coil building method. Did you know coil building has been used by humans for thousands of years? Some of the earliest dated pottery found in the Americas dates to 2500 BCE!
