This is a friendly reminder that progress reports were sent home today. This is a great opportunity to check on your child's progress so far this year. If you have any questions or concerns about the report, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher. Thank you for your continued support and have a great weekend!

Now that the winter weather is here, children will need a hat, mittens/gloves, a warm jacket, and snow pants and boots when it snows to access the full playground at recess. It is always helpful to send in your child's winter gear in a reusable bag with all the items labeled so that it is easier for your child to keep together. We have some extra items in the office for those daily need but please let reach out to the office if you need help getting any of these items for your child.

Please see our staff highlight this week, Sarah Mehlhorn, Librarian.

On November 22, we had the wonderful opportunity to watch a performance by the music education students from the University of Southern Maine at Line Elementary School. The group brought an engaging, live musical experience to our second through fifth-grade learners. Through a dynamic performance, the university students introduced a variety of musical styles and instruments, captivating the students with both the beauty and excitement of live music.

Tuesday in the Trees with pre-k is a magical outdoor learning experience where our learners engage with nature to spark curiosity and foster early literacy skills. As they explore the woods, children practice observational skills and engage in hands-on learning activities. By connecting language development with the wonders of the natural world, Tuesday in the Trees becomes a vibrant classroom where children learn, play, and grow together. Please see the video that highlights this outdoor learning time.: https://youtu.be/kG53RO6mFhs.

It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the recipients of the Model Mustang Staff Award for the month of October! This award is a tribute to those outstanding individuals who embody the qualities of a true “Model Mustang”; they inspire, lead, foster positivity, persevere, and excel in all that they do. Each Model Mustang was nominated by colleagues who took the time to acknowledge and celebrate their coworkers’ exceptional contributions to our district. Their hard work and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact they have within RSU 57! This month's raffle winner is Phil Gibson from our RSU 57 Operations department!
"Phil has jumped into his new role as the Building Maintenance Coordinator with a high level of customer service, eagerness to learn and a level of care that is second to none. We are incredibly lucky to have him here!"

Thank you to our 5th graders and their families for supporting our RSU 57 Outreach Community Closet during the month of "Socktober"!

This month for our Harvest of the Month, we did a "DISTRICT WIDE " presentation! Instead of being in one school with our HotM recipe demo, we sent it out district wide and ALL 7 SCHOOLS got to try our Garlic Parmesan Maine Broccoli recipe at some point this month during their lunch time (*check school lunch menus to see when it was served)! Our school recently participated in a mock voting activity, organized by our fourth and fifth graders as part of their social studies unit. As part of the project, all students and staff had the opportunity to cast their votes for their favorite design for the State of Maine flag. It was a fantastic hands-on experience, and the results were impressive! Our students predicted the state results with remarkable accuracy, with their vote percentages closely matching those of the actual voting outcome. This activity provided a great opportunity for students to engage with the democratic process, learn about civic participation, and make connections to real-world events. Thank you to our fourth and fifth graders for organizing such a meaningful and fun learning experience!
