Shapleigh Memorial School has been committed to honoring, thanking and celebrating our Veterans and their families for many years. We have also focused on educating our students on the service and sacrifice of our Veterans and their families. We are beginning the plan for our annual community Veterans Day assembly this year. This will be held on November 9th, beginning with a breakfast for our school community veterans followed by our school assembly.
This year we would like to highlight our Veteran’s service in a new way by creating posters that highlights each of our Veterans. This visual historical perspective will enable students and staff to see the depth of service they have provided to our community and country.
We have many new families this year, so we kindly request that anyone who is a Veteran or who has a Veteran in their family, please complete the following form so that we can send along information for our assembly. Thank you in advance!

Don't forget it is our PTC sponsored Hat Day tomorrow. Bring $1 and wear your favorite hat at school!
October Elementary Menus
Don't forget about picture day tomorrow (September 21st)! There are extra order forms in the office for those that need one!

Welcome back everyone! We had an amazing start to the school year so far! Classrooms are focusing on getting to know each other and our classroom/school routines.
Mrs. Penney met with classrooms to read the book “Alma and How She Got Her Name” as part of our community building activities this year. Following the reading, learners shared fun stories and connections with their own names and created a name bug to be placed on our school bulletin board. Each month, we will do a fun school wide activity that will align to each of our core values.

Good Evening RSU 57 Community,
Today, RSU 57 excitedly welcomed over 1,900 students in grades 1-9 for their first day of school. The success of today could not have been possible without the diligence of our educators, administrators and staff in our Transportation, Nutrition and Maintenance departments. Additionally, we are grateful for the efforts of parents and caregivers as they continue to support our students’ learning in this new year.

Good Morning RSU 57 Community.
In an ongoing effort to keep our student information as current and accurate as possible, RSU 57 will now utilize an annual verification process. This is for all returning students to RSU 57 from the 2022-23 school year. (New students to RSU 57 must be registered via the “2023/2024 School Year New Student Registration” portal in ParentVUE.) This process ensures we have the most current information for each of our students and their family so that we may communicate effectively with families and it best ensures the safety of our students.
Families are asked to review the information the district has on file in ParentVUE and make any needed changes, as well as read and acknowledge the included policies and/or required questions. This verification process will take 5-10 mins or less. If you do not know your ParentVUE login please email parentvue@rsu57.org for assistance. You will hear back between the hours of 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Please visit the link below for detailed instructions on how to complete this important process. It is required that ALL returning students have this annual verification completed prior to the start of the school year. We appreciate your assistance with this effort to ensure each of our RSU 57 students has up-to-date information in our student information system.

We wish you all a healthy and happy remainder of summer.
